The Benefits of a Franchise...

The Franchise system has gained popularity over the years in the corporate sector. We see many Franchise chains being operated through out the world and it has become one of the best ways to expand your business. How this works is that the source company known as the franchisor licenses its trademarks along with the business modus operandi to a target company or individual known as the Franchisee. The deal has to be bought by paying a certain amount of fees and a part of the gross sales that are made by the Franchised outlet. Such businesses that are working though the Franchise arrangement are known as Franchise outlets or chain stores.

For the franchisor he has the advantage of being in control of the financial aspect of the business even after licensing his trademarks. Although the Franchisee will be paying a franchising fee along with other dues and commitments the assets are all owned and controlled by the franchising company. The franchisor also provides the Franchisee with trained personnel to work for the newly established outlet. Often times they even provide complete employee training which saves a bundle of costs for the Franchisee.

Traditionally a Franchise agreement will require the Franchisee to pay a certain amount of capital to the franchisor. This acts a security deposit. Moreover it serves as a motivation for the Franchisee because in order to regain that amount he has to ensure that he makes a success out of the business. Companies that license out Franchises already have an extensive customer base. Hence the Franchisee need not worry about developing a customer base as the only reason why the source company has let out its Franchise is for the purpose of expansion. This motive is constant whether it is a new Franchise or an established one. A newer Franchise may need to break into the market by means of advertising and promotional campaigns but these are all regulated by the franchisor.

The scope of success via franchising is unlimited. This is because there is no restriction whatsoever on the amount of Franchises that a company can have. One should observe food chains like KFC to get an idea of just how many Franchised outlets one company can have. Franchising offers a much cheaper alternative to opening branches of the company. In this way it becomes a much more viable option for expansion. The Franchise itself is liable to many benefits such as the Franchise fee and royalty. Other benefits include getting much better lease options and discounts on equipment and raw materials. This is one of the biggest benefits of running a Franchise. Ordinarily an independent company would have to be paying a lot more money to get the same items. In this way the Franchise saves up on its capital and has sufficient money to run the Franchise business. Hence we see that the benefits involved with the system of franchising are manifold. They offer a company an easy and effective way to expand into new markets at the same time giving individuals a secure business opportunity.
